The process uses a Dry Ice Blasting machine, which uses 3 mm dry ice pellets at 6-10 bar air pressure to clean the surface. The Dry Ice Blasting Process in One Sentence : When fine CO2 (Dry Ice ) particles are Blasted on to a surface, the unwanted contaminants freeze and facture, Then an explosion of energy takes place, Resulting in the thorough removal of the unwanted coating’s and Debris.

ADVANTAGES OF DRY ICE BLASTING

Ice blasting is nonabrasive.
Ice does not leave a residue profile on the surface or damage the surface.
The temperature-dependence of the hardness of ice makes it the only blast medium that can be adapted to the conditions and requirements of the process, from hard to very soft for application to delicate and highly sensitive substrates.
There are no negative thermal effects from the ice temperature.
Dry ice at low temperature has nearly the same hardness as stainless steel or glass. It works like a hard abrasive medium to remove burrs and hard coatings.
No laborious post-debarring cleaning operations are required as compared to other deburring processes.
Low-temperature embrittlement of the material at cryogenic temperatures decreases the cutting force required during debarring operations.
There is no limit to the depth at which burrs can be removed.
It is safe and clean to work with and it provides superior cleanliness.
The process is environmentally friendly. There are no CO2 emissions.
The process is highly flexible with respect to the materials that can be decontaminated and the contaminants that can be removed.
Ice can be mixed with low amounts of an abrasive for enhanced cleaning effectiveness (abrasive on demand system).
The process is amenable to high degree of automation for inline cleaning. It can also be configured as mobile technology for in place cleaning of equipment.
Ice blasting is safe to use in confined areas or where adequate ventilation is an issue. No dust, fines, or fumes are generated or emitted.
Ice blasting is essential for industrial sector for cleaning application with low cost in comparison to other cleaning methods with efficiency
The process generates only primary waste no secondary waste and removes contaminations. No additional waste is generated.
